Innovation saved 8,000 euros on a single delivery
The brief
Shipping a consignment of welded bins to a French customer took five trucks. Each one held only three bins — the rest was air. And it was not cheap: the delivery cost the customer €10,000.
We came up with a simple but clever change. We redesigned the bins so they fold flat. Setting one back up takes a single minute. No complicated assembly, just a practical system of latches.
Solution
With the next delivery, only one truck was needed. We saved 1,500 liters of diesel, 4 tons of CO2, and 8,000 euros. Transporting the folded baskets was also safer, and handling them was easier.
